Which accounts can I access through M&T Web Banking for Business?

You can access information for your company's eligible Business Access Lines of Credit, Business Installment Loans, Business Overdraft Line of Credit, MTB Money Market Funds**, commercial loans and lines of credit, commercial mortgages, and equipment leases*.

What if I forget my Passcode?

To reset your Passcode online:

  • Click the “Forgot your Passcode?
  • Click here” link on the Web Banking for Business Sign on page
  • Enter your User ID and Social Security Number 
  • Provide the answers to the Security Questions you set up at enrollment 
  • Follow the on-screen directions, select a new Passcode and click “Continue”

How do I change my existing Passcode?

  • Sign on to M&T Web Banking for Business
  • Click on the “Customer Service” tab 
  • Click on the “Change Passcode” link located below the “My Profile” heading
  • Create your new Passcode and click “Submit Change”.

What are M&T Web Banking for Business Security Questions?

M&T Web Banking for Business Security Questions are collected during enrollment and are designed so that the answers are easy for you to remember but difficult for someone other than you to guess.

Your security questions will be used periodically as additional authentication when you sign on to Web Banking for Business, after you have provided your User ID and Passcode. When a Security Question is asked, you need to correctly answer the question in order to access your M&T Web Banking account. We do this to protect your personal information.

You may also use your Security Questions to reset your Passcode online in the event that it is forgotten.

How do I change my Web Banking for Business Security Questions?

  • Sign on to M&T Web Banking for Business
  • Click on the “Customer Service” tab 
  • Click on the "Change Security Questions" link located below the “My Profile” heading
  • Select three questions, provide the appropriate answers and click "Submit"

How often will I see my M&T Web Banking for Business Security Questions?

Once you set your Security Questions at enrollment, you may see them again periodically after signing on to M&T Web Banking for Business. We do this to protect your personal information.

Can I find out when my deposit will be available?

To find out when your deposit will be available just go to your Checking or Savings detail page and click on the link that says "DEPOSIT" under the transaction description. A box will pop up and tell you how much of your deposit is available same day, and when the rest of it will become available.

Electronic Statement and Document Delivery

What is Electronic Statement and Document Delivery?

Electronic Statement and Document Delivery is a FREE service that allows you to receive an electronic version of your statements (with access to check images) and notices through M&T Web Banking for Business, with the option of discontinuing delivery of your paper statements and notices in the mail. By signing up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery and turning off paper delivery, you can protect your identity by reducing the possibility of your account documents being lost or stolen in the mail.

How do I sign up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery?

To sign up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery you must be enrolled in M&T Web Banking for Business. Once you are enrolled, log on and click on the Customer Service tab. On the Customer Service page, click on the “Sign up for Electronic Delivery” link and then complete the short enrollment form.

Yes, there is no charge for receiving your statements and notices electronically in Web Banking for Business.

Is my electronic statement and notice information secure?

Yes, your statements and notices are protected by the same technology that keeps your Web Banking for Business information encrypted and secure. Furthermore, you can reduce the possibility of mail fraud and identity theft by stopping delivery of your paper statements and notices by signing up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery.

What account documents are available electronically?

Your checking, savings, CD and Business Overdraft Lines of Credit account statements are all available electronically. Additionally, you can receive CD and IRA renewal and maturity notices as well as insufficient funds notices via electronic delivery.

How long will it take to set up my Electronic Statement and Document Delivery?

Once you have signed up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery you will have instant access to up to 24 months of account statements and notices. You will receive an e-mail alerting you when your next statement or notice is available.

Can I turn off my paper statements and notices and only receive an electronic delivery?

Yes.  When you sign up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery you will continue to receive your paper statements and notices, as well as have access to 24 months of statements and notices online. You always have the option of turning off your paper statements and notices and receiving them in an "electronic-only" format.

How do I discontinue delivery of my paper statements and notices?

Begin by signing on to Web Banking for Business and clicking on the “Customer Service” tab. Once you are on the Customer Service page, click on the “Delivery Options” link under the “Statements and Documents” heading. From there you can select your preferred delivery method, including “Electronic”.

Will I receive cancelled checks or images of my checks with my electonic statement?

No, when you discontinue paper statements you will no longer receive cancelled checks through the mail. However, check images are available with a single click from your Electronic Statement. You can view and print the front and back of your checks from the “Check View” feature.

Will I be able to print my statements, notices and check images?

Yes, once you open your electronic documents or view a check image, you will be able to print them just like you would print any document on your computer.

Can I turn my paper statements and notices back on?

Yes, you can resume paper delivery of your account documents by calling us at 1-800-724-6070. M&T Business Telephone Banking Representatives are available from 7:00AM-7:00PM Monday through Friday and 9:00AM-5:00PM Saturday.

Will my electronic statements and notices look the same as the paper versions?

Yes, your electronic documents look exactly like your paper ones.

What format will my electronic statements and notices appear in?

You will have access to an interactive-HTML version of your statements. This version has features such as allowing you to sort your transactions, and one-click access to your check images (for 90 days). You will also have access to a PDF version of your statements and notices. This document is an exact replica of your paper statements and notices.

How do I save my electronic statements and notices for future reference?

You can save your electronic statements, notices and check images right to your computer as PDF documents. To view the PDF, go to the Statements and Documents View page, select your statement or notice and click on the “View and Print PDF” icon. Once the PDF is open, select “File” from the top menu bar and then “Save As”. Be sure to give your file a unique file name so that is easily distinguishable in the future.

How do I get a copy of a cancelled check?

Sign on to Web Banking for Business, go to the “Customer Service” page, and then click on the “Order copies of cleared checks” link under the “Checks/Check Ordering” heading.

When will I receive my electronic statements?

Your account statements will be available the day after your statement cycles. The “Statement Cycle” date is shown at the top of your account statement.

How will I know when a new statement or notice is available?

When a new statement or notice is available, we will send you an e-mail notification.

What if I need to change my e-mail address?

In order to continue receiving the e-mail notice that your latest electronic statement or notice is available, you need to notify us of your e-mail address change. To update your e-mail address go to the "Customer Service" page in M&T Web Banking for Business and click on the “Update or Add an E-mail Address” link.

What is the difference between my Account History in Web Banking for Business and my electronic statement?

Both your Account History screen and your electronic statements show your transactions and are free of charge. But there are some key differences:
The Account History screen shows all of your transactions for up to 90 days.  Transaction information is updated as it occurs.

Your electronic statement replaces your paper statement and is updated with your statement cycle, not daily. Up to 24 months of statements are available with electronic statements.

Can I view my statements and notices in Web Banking for Business without signing up for Electronic Statement and Document Delivery?

Yes, you can view 3 months of your statements and notices through M&T Web Banking for Business without enrolling in Electronic Statement and Document Delivery.  However, you cannot view any notices online without enrolling in Electronic Statement and Document Delivery.

What is Adobe Reader and why do I need it?

Adobe® Acrobat® ReaderTM is free software used for viewing and printing PDF files. You will need this software installed on your computer in order for your computer to download, display or print your statement and notice images. To download Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here.

How do I make payments to my Business Access Line of Credit?

If you are receiving your Business Access Line of Credit statement electronically you should also make your payment electronically. On your statement you will see a “Make a Payment” link. This will take you to the Transfers page where you can make a payment. The funds will be withdrawn immediately and the payment will appear on your Business Access Line of Credit on the next business day. Please do not print your statement and mail in a payment. This may result in a delay to your payment posting.
