The Main Street Lending Program (MSLP) is designed to provide support to small and medium-sized businesses and their employees across the U.S. during the current period of financial strain by supporting the provision of credit to such businesses.
The MSLP also provides support to nonprofit organizations such as educational institutions, hospitals, and social service organizations.
The availability of additional credit is intended to help businesses and organizations that were in sound financial condition prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic maintain their operations and payroll until conditions normalize.
The MSLP includes five types of loan facilities. For-profit businesses may apply for one of three types of loan facilities including the "New," "Priority," and "Expanded." Nonprofit Organizations may apply for one of two types of loan facilities including the "Nonprofit New" and the "Nonprofit Expanded."
The MSLP is administered by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (FRB), which has established a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to purchase 95% of MSLP Loans from Eligible Lenders across the U.S.
All Main Street Lending Program Loans are subject to
satisfaction of eligibility requirements for the MSLP government program and underwriting
and creditworthiness determination by M&T Bank in its sole discretion. M&T Bank is an Eligible Lender for the Main Street Lending Program.
All loans and lines of credit are subject to credit approval. Additional terms and conditions may apply.
