To turn on JavaScript in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
  2. Click the Web content zone that you are using (for example, click Local Intranet),
    and then click Custom Level button.
  3. Locate Active scripting under Scripting settings. Click to select the Enable radio button.
  4. Click OK button on Security Settings and Internet Options windows to save your changes.

To turn on JavaScript in Firefox, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.., and then click the Content tab.
  2. Click to select the Enable JavaScript check box.
  3. Click OK button to save the setting.

To turn on JavaScript in Safari, follow these steps:

  1. Open Safari
  2. On the Safari menu, click on Preferences.
  3. Click the Security icon.
  4. Click on Enable JavaScript next to the Web Content section if it is not checked
  5. Close the Preferences window
  6. Close and restart Safari.

Opera 9.xx series

To turn on JavaScript in Opera 9.xx series, follow these steps:

  1. Open Opera.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Preferences.
  3. Click Content in the Preferences list.
  4. Check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click the JavaScript Options button to open the JavaScript Options box.
  6. Check the boxes that you want to allow.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click OK.

Google Chrome(v0.4.154.23)

To turn on JavaScript in Google Chrome(v0.4.154.23), follow these steps:

  1. First close any open Chrome windows.
  2. Right click on a blank area of your Desktop.
  3. Select New.
  4. Create a new Shortcut with the following in the "Type the location of the item:" text box:
    • For Windows Vista:
      %userprofile%\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -enable-javascript
    • For Windows XP:
      "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\chrome.exe" -enable-javascript
      Note: You'll have to enclose the file path for Windows XP in quotes due to there being spaces in it.

This Mobile Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to users of the M&T Bank mobile application. The term "M&T" or "we," "us" or "our" in any mobile banking application we own and control, and in this Policy, refers to M&T Bank and our affiliates or subsidiaries. This Policy describes how the mobile banking application may collect, use and share information from or about you and explains how the information may be shared or used.

1. Agreement Policy

By using the M&T Bank mobile banking application, you consent to this Policy, which includes your consent to disclose and use information about you in the manner detailed in this Policy. Other privacy policies may also apply in addition to the terms of this Policy, including, but not limited to, our corporate Privacy Policy.

​​2. Gathering, Using & Sharing: Information That We Collect

We may collect information about you through the mobile banking application including information about your device and carrier and your location information. This information is collected and analyzed to assist us with fraud detection and for other security purposes, and to enhance our ability to optimize and personalize your experience while using our mobile banking application. We may also gather additional information when you initiate a transaction.

Device and Carrier Information

Through your use of the mobile application we may collect information about your device such as the device model, and the name and version of the operating system. We may also collect your phone number and the identity of the carrier. This information will be retained by M&T for as long as needed but will only be used for the limited purposes stated within this Policy.

​Location Tracking

There may be certain information transmitted to us regarding your location when you log in or request information through the mobile application, such as your physical location. This information may be provided to mapping applications to assist you in locating nearby ATMs. Your location data will be retained by M&T for as long as needed but will only be used for the limited purposes stated within this Policy.​

Transaction Information

We may collect information when you initiate a transaction (for example, when you upload a check image while using M&T Mobile Deposit). This information will only be used or shared in order to provide the service that you requested.

3. Security Measures

We protect information you provide us in several ways. We use encryption standards and SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to help ensure that information passes to M&T without being intercepted by third parties. User IDs, passcodes, fingerprint recogniton and facial recognition are used to help safeguard access to your information through the Mobile Banking Application. As always, we strongly encourage you to assist us in that effort by not sharing your M&T User ID and passcode with anyone.
