Scholarships and Grants
Scholarships and grants have traditionally been offered for academic and athletic accomplishment. However, they can also be based on criteria such as musical or artistic talent, religious affiliations, residence, or community memberships. Military programs such as the ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program also provide college scholarships or stipends in exchange for several years of military service.
It is important to do a thorough search, as you may be eligible for multiple scholarships and grants. Good starting points include high school guidance counselors, public libraries, community organizations, religious groups, state education agencies and parents’ employers.
