Hugh Giorgio has led the Investment Banking and Capital Markets division since 2020. In this role, he oversees structuring, origination, sales and trading across loan and equity capital markets, fixed income, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, and international trade finance. In earlier roles at M&T, Hugh helped build the bank’s sales and trading platform while expanding its loan capital markets capabilities. His 35+ years of industry experience spans media and communications, REITs, asset-based lending, and broader leveraged finance. Prior to joining M&T, Hugh held positions of increasing responsibility at The Bank of New York and Fleet Bank. Hugh is based in Maryland and earned a B.S. in economics and finance from Mount St. Mary’s University.
